Radler’s Family of the Knock Out® Roses

Will Radler has always been passionate about roses.

His love of roses started at a young age, he bought his first rose bush for fifty cents when he was nine years old. His interest in roses led him to meet like-minded people who also enjoyed growing roses. As his friends grew older, they told Will that they needed to cut back on growing roses since it was too much work. Will took this on as a challenge and wanted to make roses easier to grow.

After years of research, and endless trial and error, Will made progress, but it was slow. Then, in 1989, his breakthrough plant emerged. This one plant, the Knock Out® Rose, changed rose gardening and the rose industry for the better.

Will’s creation of the Knock Out® Rose started a new era of rose gardening. A new generation of disease-resistant roses made it possible for beginning gardeners and landscape gardeners to easily incorporate roses into their gardens.

Roses are known for their timeless beauty, they are the most popular flower in the world. Thanks to Will, millions of gardeners have been able to experience low-maintenance, disease-resistant roses in their garden and roses will be able to remain the most popular flower in the garden and in people’s hearts, forever.
